The new deadline for CASPs to obtain the MiCA license in Lithuania

The Ministry of Finance of Lithuania (MoF) has announced an update to the draft legislation which will introduce new activity requirements for crypto services providers (CASP) and establish their licensing process. 

The proposed package of legislative amendments provides for a transition period until 1 June 2025 to prepare and obtain licenses to continue operating under the new regulation. Previous proposal of MoF was to waive the transitional period in Lithuania, i.e. to start implement the MiCA requirements from 30 December 2024.
